2007 GIRO D'ITALIA
TOUR
MAY 23 - JUNE 4, 2007
This year
is the 90th edition of the Giro. The route offers opportunities and
challenges for every type of riders, from the sprinters, to the Time-Trialist
to the pure climbers. For sure the queen stage (the “tappa regina”)
will be the arrival on top of Tre Cime di Lavaredo after having climbed
other 4 difficult mountain passes. Have you ever ridden a mountain pass
the same day of the Giro riders? It’s pure adrenaline. A unique
experience not to be missed!!!
The philosophy of our tours is to give priority to cycling; therefore
we minimize the time spent in long and tiring van transfers and maximize
the time spent on our bikes. We will focus our Giro tour in the Dolomites
and in the Garda Lake area. We will be riding and watching 4 stages
of the Giro having different characteristics. We will be riding and
watching: most of the passes of the queen stage with the arrival on
top of Tre Cime di Lavaredo, the Giro coming by on top of the Campolongo
pass, one of the intermediate sites of stage 16, the sprint arrival
in Comano Terme, north of Garda Lake and the TT between Bardolino and
Verona. You will leave Italy knowing who won this year’s Giro.
The rest of the time you will be riding some of the most famous and
legendary Giro mountain passes. You couldn’t ask for better training
to build your strength and return back home much stronger and highly
competitive.
However, you will also have the opportunity to short your ride starting
further or ending earlier and enjoy the stunning scenery from the van
with the unique and pleasant company of our Italian mountaineer drivers.
You will also be excited and challenged by riding with the owner of
Nonstop Ciclismo, Keith Neu, who has been an accomplished racer for
over 10 years and who personally will be leading every ride and will
be providing you with the most helpful tips to improve your climbing
and downhill skills. Moreover, you will always have the support and
help of our native Italian guide and avid cyclist Luisa.
